An entire weekend dedicated to type 1 diabetes
People living with type 1 diabetes face a daily struggle, and can sometimes feel alone in their situation. The Rencontres du premier type is a unique opportunity! It’s an entire weekend dedicated to type 1 diabetes. Adults living with type 1 diabetes and their loved ones are invited to participate.
For one weekend, people living with type 1 diabetes are no different from those around them. Everything is designed to make life easier for them: the number of carbohydrates in dishes is indicated during meals, needle trays are placed in the rooms, breaks for measuring blood sugar levels are provided during sporting activities, etc.
The program includes lectures by experts on topics related to diabetes management, workshops by healthcare professionals, sports activities, pharmaceutical company booths and much more! In addition to learning opportunities, participants have the chance to exchange ideas with people who live the same reality as they do on a daily basis, all in a convivial and fun atmosphere.
