{"id":27580,"date":"2021-07-29T10:04:59","date_gmt":"2021-07-29T14:04:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.diabete.qc.ca\/en\/diabetes\/diabetes-management\/recipes\/cari-de-porc-courge-et-pommes\/"},"modified":"2023-05-29T17:34:54","modified_gmt":"2023-05-29T21:34:54","slug":"pork-squash-and-apple-curry","status":"publish","type":"recipe","link":"https:\/\/www.diabete.qc.ca\/en\/diabetes\/diabetes-management\/recipes\/pork-squash-and-apple-curry\/","title":{"rendered":"Pork, squash and apple curry"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\" block-background theme-block theme-block--innerblock alignfull bg-color--grey bottom-concave red-sun-left\" >\n\n  <span class=\"theme-block__label\">Section with background<\/span>\n  \n      <div class=\"background-img\">\n      <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.diabete.qc.ca\/wp-content\/themes\/diabete.qc.ca\/dist\/images\/block-background\/red-sun-left.svg\" alt=\"\">\n    <\/div>\n  \n  \n    \n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column has-white-background-color has-background is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>750 ml (3 cups) butternut squash, cut into 2.5-cm (1-inch) cubes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>10 ml + 15 ml + 15 ml (2 tsp + 1 tbsp + 1 tbsp) canola oil<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>500 g (1 lb) pork tenderloin, cubed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 large onion, chopped<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 garlic cloves, finely chopped<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>125 ml (\u00bd cup) chicken broth<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 can (370 ml) evaporated skim milk<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 red apple, unpeeled, diced<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>15 ml (1 tablespoon) curry powder<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>125 ml (\u00bd cup) fresh coriander leaves<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3 green onions, sliced into rings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column has-grey-300-background-color has-background is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Preparation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Preheat oven to 400\u00b0F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Place squash cubes on baking sheet and toss with 10 ml canola oil. Season with salt and pepper. Bake for 15 minutes or until slightly tender.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, heat 15 ml oil and brown the pork cubes quickly to preserve the pink interior. Remove the cubes from the pan and set aside.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the same pan, over medium-high heat, heat 15 ml oil. Add onion and garlic and saut\u00e9 for a few minutes, until onion is transparent.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stir in chicken broth, evaporated milk, diced apple, squash and pork cubes. Sprinkle with curry powder. Stir well and simmer for 5 minutes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check seasoning and adjust if necessary.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Just before serving, garnish each plate with green onion and coriander leaves.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n                    \n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Suggestion for a complete meal:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Serve with a green vegetable and baby potatoes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This comforting dish is sure to brighten up your kitchen.
