They reflect higher-than-normal blood glucose (sugar) levels (hyperglycemia).They may or may not be present when a diagnosis of diabetes is made and they may also occur when a person\u2019s diabetes is not well controlled and there is hyperglycemia (high blood sugar).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>fatigue, drowsiness<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>an increase in the volume and frequency of urination<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>intense thirst<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>excessive hunger<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>unexplained weight loss<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>blurred vision<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>slow healing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>genital and bladder infections<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>tingling in the fingers or feet<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>irritability<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If any or several of these symptoms occur, consult your physician. If the symptoms are severe, get yourself to the hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The symptoms of type 1 diabetes can appear progressively or suddenly. Diabetes doesn\u2019t always present the same way, with the same intensity or with all these symptoms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The symptoms of prediabetes &nbsp;are usually absent.
