Its many benefits include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>feeling more relaxed and physically fit;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>better weight control;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a reduced risk of osteoporosis and arthritis;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a reduced risk of&nbsp;cardiovascular&nbsp;disease (lower&nbsp;blood pressure&nbsp;in the short and medium term, lower cholesterol&nbsp;and&nbsp;triglycerides&nbsp;levels in the blood);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>stress reduction and greater self-esteem;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>more energy and feeling of well-being;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>greater self-confidence and a better quality of life.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Physical activity and diabetes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Physical activity increases the effectiveness of&nbsp;insulin&nbsp;&nbsp;by increasing the sensitivity of the body\u2019s tissues to its action. This effect persists for several hours after&nbsp;exercise. Furthermore, the muscles that worked during exercise burn&nbsp;glucose&nbsp;(sugar) , which lowers the level in the blood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Being physically active helps prevent long-term diabetes complications.
